ATHENS RIVIERA

Alimos on the Athens Riviera

Alimos is the marina suburb at the northern gate of the Riviera, beside the Ellinikon project and a short hop from Glyfada.

Alimos is the working waterfront at the top of the Riviera. The reason to stay is the marina, not a pine avenue. Alimos Marina and Flisvos, just north, are where a day boat actually leaves from. The beaches of Glyfada are a few minutes south. The Ellinikon site is next door, which means cranes and a new park as well as a future district.

Stay here if someone in the group wants to be on a boat, or if you want the shortest drive from the city without giving up the coast. It is less obviously pretty than Vouliagmeni. It is more useful. Houses are a mix of family homes and apartments. A villa with a pool exists, and it should be described as that, not as a seafront fantasy.

The Ellinikon guide explains what you can visit now and what is still a building site. Glyfada is the next suburb south for dinner and beach clubs. The Athens Riviera guide puts Alimos in the sequence of the coast.

Airport transfers are among the shorter ones on this shore, often around twenty-five minutes. As everywhere else, the exact address follows the booking, and the neighbourhood is named here so you know which part of the coast you are buying.

FAQ

Is Alimos on the beach?

It is a coastal suburb with a long waterfront and two marinas, Alimos and neighbouring Flisvos. Many homes are a few streets back. We say the walk in minutes.

Can you arrange a yacht from here?

Yes. Alimos Marina and Flisvos are the practical departure points for a day on the water toward Aegina or along the Riviera. It is booked separately from the villa.
